LEWIS LHT Axial Cylinder 4x17mm Titanium Piston Hydraulic Disc Brake for Downhill & Enduro

Titanium in a brake only pays off if you know why it is there. On the LEWIS LHT it does two jobs, in the 4 x 17mm titanium and ceramic pistons and in the titanium screws and bolts around the axial cylinder and caliper.

What titanium and ceramic do together

Under hard use, the titanium conducts heat well while the ceramic insulates, so pad heat moves and spreads more evenly. Titanium hardware also trims weight compared with stainless steel components, which matters most to riders who count grams on a downhill or enduro build.

Three lever settings and the order to use them

Start with reach, which adjusts without tools, then set bite point with a 2mm Allen key. Leverage ratio comes last, because moving the center point of the lever changes how the rest of the stroke feels, and it is easier to judge once reach and bite point are settled.

Removing the hose without a mess

The detachable olive head in the anti-leak oil system makes hose removal simpler when routing the brake through a frame. Plan on a bleed with mineral oil afterwards, using the LEWIS Bleed Kit that is recommended for this model.

Intended uses include enduro, downhill, all-mountain, e-bike and dirtbike riding. Add an adapter that suits your mount and chosen rotor before the bike goes back together.
