The AE brake lever features a completely new feel tuning, providing a firmer and more substantial sensation compared to the LH series. It is better suited for riders who prefer a higher feedback force from the brake lever.
The AE brake uses LEWIS's latest integrated CNC caliper, offering higher caliper rigidity, longer maintenance intervals, and extended lifespan.
AE brakes are made of 7075 aluminum, which are cut and formed by CNC high-precision, with high strength and light weight.

The 14mm + 17mm asymmetric piston design enhances brake linear feel, ensures even brake pad pressure distribution, and balances wear.
Up to four precision bearings make up the pivot point of the brake lever, providing riders with an exceptional braking experience down to the finest details.
Some riders want a lever that pushes back. The LEWIS AE is tuned for them, with a firmer, more substantial feel than the LH series on an axial, four-piston brake for enduro, XC and trail riding.
Deciding if a firmer lever suits your hands
A firm lever gives more feedback force at your finger, and that is the reason to pick the AE. If you prefer less feedback at the lever, compare it with the LH series first, since the AE is tuned firmer than those brakes.
Adjusting reach and leaving the rest alone
Lever reach is the adjustment described for the AE, set by rotating a knob with no tools needed. No bite point adjuster is described, so riders who like to tune that setting should choose a brake that states it.
A one-body caliper under pressure
The caliper is an integrated CNC piece, designed so deformation stays minimal under high hydraulic pressure. That is meant to give more stable braking.
Picking a color by part, not by brake
Colors differ across the brake, with a black body and clamp, a black or orange lever blade and a black or gunmetal caliper. Ask whether your combination is possible before you order.
- Post mount caliper in 7075 aluminum
- 2 x 14mm and 2 x 17mm stainless steel pistons with stainless steel screws
- Metallic TP-37 or resin LP-37 pads
- Rotors of 160, 180, 200, 203, 220 or 223mm, optional and separate
- LEWIS 2.3mm rotors, or 2.0mm to 2.5mm from another brand
- Black braided hose, T150 front and T200 rear, 5mm outside with a 2.2mm bore
- Hoses of 90cm front and 165cm rear, on a 1 finger split clamp lever
The hoses can be shortened to fit; bleed afterwards with mineral oil, using the recommended EZMTB 2022std kit. Add an adapter to suit your frame and rotor.
