Brake Pad Guide
The compound depends on how you brake, and the section width depends on your caliper. Get both right and the choice is done.

Four Compounds at a Glance
We carry four compound families. Here is what each one is made for, in the terms of its own specification.
Resin for Short, Low-Speed Braking
Our LP series gives stronger performance at low speed or when you only brake for short periods. That suits XC, street trials and similar riding.
It comes in LP-30, LP-37 and LP-40. See the LP series for the caliper list.

Semi-Metallic When Noise Bothers You
If pad noise is the thing you want to fix on a two-piston LEWIS brake, start with RP-30. It is a low-noise semi-metallic pad with a 30mm section width for LV2, BB2, SL and SLR calipers.

Sintered for Long, Hard Braking
The TP series is built for consistent performance during high-intensity use and in hard conditions. That covers enduro, downhill and e-bikes.
The SP series is a specialized sintered metallic pad, and it runs all the way from SP-30 to SP-44.

Carbon Ceramic for Speed and Distance
Our VP pads are made for high speed or long distance braking, with less noise and better heat dissipation in their specification.
VP-30, VP-37 and VP-40 cover the standard calipers, and VP-44 covers EB 20-21 and AX 18-20.

Match the Section Width to Your Caliper
Section width is the pad dimension that has to match your caliper. The number in most pad codes points to it: a 37 code is 36.9mm. The bars below are drawn to scale against 44mm.
Choose by Compound and Width
Read across from your caliper, then down from the way you ride. Some of our listings cover several sizes without a size button yet, so email [email protected] with the code you need before you order.
| Width | Resin | Sintered | Carbon ceramic |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30mm | LP-30 | TP-30, SP-30 | VP-30 |
| 36.9mm | LP-37 | TP-37, SP-37 | VP-37 |
| 40mm | LP-40 | TP-40, SP-40 | VP-40 |
| 44mm | Not listed | EP-44-4.0, SP-44 | VP-44 |
Our parts by brake model page lists the same pads by caliper.
E-Moto Pads
EP6 pads are semi-metallic and sized by rotor: EP6 3.5 fits 3.0mm rotors and EP6 4.0 fits 2.3mm rotors.
EP-37 is the sintered metallic pad for EP8+ brakes. EP-44-4.0 is sintered metallic for large four-piston calipers such as EB and AX. The e-motorcycle guide has the rest of the setup.
