It is recommended that everyone consult with us or our dealers before making a purchase.
Reading the lever comes first with this kit, because the G2 version is only named for LHT brakes marked X, a, a1 or X0. Find that mark and the rest of the choice falls into place.
Why the lever mark settles G1 versus G2
Both LHT kits print the same item names and reference numbers, so laying the two lists side by side will not tell you which to buy. The mark on your lever is the test. Marked X, a, a1 or X0 means G2, and no mark at all means G1.
If your LHT lever mark is hard to read
Clean the lever well and check it under a strong light before deciding. Should you see a different character, or nothing you can trust, treat the fit as unconfirmed. The kit notes recommend consulting before purchase, and a clear lever photo makes that conversation much quicker.
Parts inside the G2 kit worth checking first
Count the four Caliper #4 piston O-rings and the single Caliper #12 clamshell O-ring when the kit is opened. Then find the lever piston, the modified sleeve with its two O-rings, the two oil port O-rings, the circlip, the spring and the diaphragm. Doing this before you drain the brake means nothing is missing halfway through.
- Marks named for this kit: X, a, a1 and X0
- Works with LHT, not the LH4 list
- Fluid is not on the list, so match it to your brake
- Bleed tools are a separate purchase
- Front and rear piston O-rings are Lever #19 and #20
- Oil port O-rings are Lever #8, two pieces
Take your time on the identification step, because that is the one part of an LHT G2 service that cannot be fixed once the brake is apart and the wrong bag is open on the bench.
