Reading the Four Numbers That Set Your Cockpit

The 35mm handlebar cross bore means your bar needs a 35mm clamp area, and the 28.6mm fork bore must match your steerer. The 40mm center distance and 40mm stack height then decide how your hands sit, so compare both with the stem you are replacing before you pick up a wrench.

How the 70mm Clamp Width Changes Bar Setup

The FX-SS holds the bar across a 70mm clamp width with 15mm of contact on each side, which is meant to reduce stress build-up between bar and stem. A wide clamp also takes up more of the bar center, so check that any markings, cable routing or computer mounts still have space.

Fitting a Single-End Locking Stem Carefully

This 7075-T6 aluminum stem, CNC machined, uses single-end locking with larger bolts on the non-locking end. That layout reinforces the locking face, yet correct installation still matters, so seat the faces evenly and tighten the stainless steel bolts with a torque wrench to any value printed on the stem.

The width of thr clamping is 70mm, which is 3mm-4mm wider than the commonly seen upright handlebars, giving FX stem the same rigidity performance as the upright handlebars for high-speed descents.

Handlebar Clamping contact width: 15mm

The unilateral contact width has reached 15mm, reducing the stress accumulation between the handle bar and the stem, thus extending the lifespan.
