• Rotors are not included, and a LEWIS 3mm rotor is the strong recommendation.
• There is no compatible rotor yet for E-Ride Pro 3.0 and SR models. Always measure your bolt spacing before ordering a rotor.
• The lever works on either side of the bar.

Fitting an 8-piston brake to a Surron Light Bee is more of a setup job than a shopping decision, so it helps to know how the LEWIS EP8-II goes on and what you can adjust afterward. Its 8 pistons get the attention, but mounting, lever setup and fluid are what you deal with in the garage.

Mounting the EP8-II on a Light Bee rear

The caliper is a post mount type with 5-bolt fixation, and the adapter and rotor guard are included. Plan around the HD220-54 rotor, which is 3mm x 220mm with a 54mm aperture, and route the 165 cm rear hose before you commit to a final lever position.

Dialing in lever reach and leverage ratio

Reach is set with the provided 2mm Allen key, so start by placing the lever where your finger falls naturally. For the leverage ratio, loosen the fixed screw and turn the adjustment knob, changing it a little at a time and testing the feel between each change.

Bleeding and living with DOT 5.1

This brake runs DOT 5.1 fluid in a large oil reservoir, and the recommended bleed kit is the EZMTB 2022std. Keep DOT fluid away from paint and pads, and as a general rule never mix it with mineral oil, since the two are not interchangeable.

Managing heat across eight pistons

Four 17mm and four 14mm stainless steel pistons with insulation layers work alongside independent cooling fins to manage high temperature. Build up gradually on long descents until you learn how the system behaves.

Test slowly in a safe place first, and confirm the rotor runs free and the lever stays firm.
