A road bike that already brakes well rarely needs a whole new system, and the LEWIS R2 lets a climbing build change just the caliper. It brings a one-piece 7075 T6 aluminum frame and two 21mm titanium pistons to a flat mount frame or fork, while your lever and hose stay in service.
What a one-piece frame does on a road bike
The monoblock frame is cut as a single piece from bar stock, with no join between the halves. LEWIS uses that layout to machine away more material while keeping the frame rigid, which is where the low mass comes from. The inner wall around the 2 x 21mm pistons is also thicker to suit hard use, such as long mountain descents.
Measure the 34mm flat mount on your frame
The R2 has a 34mm flat mounting distance. Check that figure against your frame and fork first, because a flat mount caliper will not bolt straight onto a different standard without extra parts.
Let your lever decide the fluid version
A lever filled with DOT 5.1 fluid needs the DOT version of this caliper, and a mineral oil lever needs the other one. The two fluids should never share a system, so find out what is in your lever if you are unsure.
