Deciding Between Direct-Mount and Steer Tube Mode

As general guidance, a direct-mount setup bolts the stem to the crown, while a steer tube setup clamps it to the steerer above the crown. If you may change forks later, having both modes available can keep the stem in use, provided the new crown matches too.

Checking Your Fork Crown Before You Order

The direct-mount bolt pattern and steerer size are not stated, and those two details decide whether the D-Hybrid fits. Measure your crown's bolt spacing and steerer diameter, or find them in your fork's documentation, then ask for a match before ordering rather than assuming that any dual crown fork will work.

Living With a 50mm Length and Zero Rise

This stem comes in one size, with a 35mm diameter to compare with your handlebar clamp. If your current stem is close to 50mm and flat, your position barely changes; if not, adjust bar rise or sweep. On a steep, rough track, the 70mm clamping width is there to boost handlebar stability and rigidity.
